13 Things To Do in 2013

By Jeric Pena • January 1, 2013 • Plans, Thought Cloud

Hello, 2013!

The new year has begun! And my vacation’s almost over. I think I’m not yet ready to go back to school yet. But one thing’s for sure, I am ready to welcome the hoards of New Year resolutionists in UP Diliman’s academic oval. Please don’t forget to say hello!

I’m over and done with writing and listing down New Year’s resolutions. So before I start working on some things for school, I think that this is the perfect time to list down some things I wish and need to do in 2013 just because I want to.

13 Things To Do in 2013

On Traveling

  • Have my passport stamped
  • Travel out of the country
  • Travel alone
  • Explore Binondo by foot
  • Spend a weekend in a posh hotel

I definitely need to travel this 2013. I hope that the travel gods will make this possible by providing me with a lot of seat sales and great travel deals. I also want to experience traveling alone. I wouldn’t let my passport expire without a single stamp!

On Language Learning

  • Enroll in a Korean Language class
  • Start learning French

I have been learning Korean on my own for quite some time now, but I am having  difficulties in finding time to sit down and work on my lessons. I’ll definitely have time to study Korean this summer in a classroom setting! I also wish to start learning French so I can be cool and classy. (I am kidding, of course.)

On Blogging

  • Record a video blog
  • Improve Just Jeric
  • Blog regularly

I love blogging and it’s great to be a blogger. I’ve dedicated most of my 2012 in building Jeric Pena Reports. But this year, I also want to develop and improve this blog and the other websites that I maintain.

On Religion

  • Memorize the new English Mass translation
  • Attend a Mass said in a foreign language (aside from English)

I usually attend the Tagalog Mass in our parish so I still don’t know the new English translation of the Mass by heart. I really need to attend English Masses from now on to acquaint myself with the new translation. I also wish to attend a Mass said in a foreign language.

On Friends and Family

  • Send postcards or snail mail to friends and family

I love sending and receiving postcards. But I stopped sending postcards a few years ago because I wanted to save money. I know that a P13 stamp wouldn’t hurt, but I’m sure that it would if you’re going to send 10 postcards a week. I just want to go back to the habit of sending postcards or snail mails. I love the postal system and I don’t want it to die even though the people manning the post offices here aren’t that friendly.

How about you? What will you be doing in 2013? What are the new things that you’re going to try this year?

Happy New Year!
